Not only did the Dow reach and break the 16000 point mark (an all time high that has never been reached before), the NYSE listed twenty-four more new IPOs today, and the best thing about that: They’re all tech stocks that chose not to be listed on NASDAQ. The second part of the title says that “Markets Usher in a New Era”, well they sort of are. This is the first time in American history that so many companies have released IPOs in a year. This is also the FIRST year that so many tech companies have chosen to release their IPOs on NYSE. If this trend continues, the NYSE could become the next major exchange monopolizer, and that’s bad news for NASDAQ. Keep your eye on the number of tech stocks being released in the NYSE as it’s an indicator for how the NASDAQ is going to go.
